When It Snows
Your nanny is snowed in and cannot get to work, but they want to know if they still get paid.
You are not obliged to pay your nanny unless their contract specifically states that they are entitled to pay if they cannot travel to work due to adverse weather conditions.
It is the responsibility of the nanny to travel to work, regardless of the severity of weather conditions.
Unless you contractually provide transport for the nanny to and from work.
If your nanny cannot get to work by their normal method you should first advise them to explore alternative means of safe transport. If your nanny still cannot get to work you can advise them.
- Any time off work due to adverse snow conditions will be unpaid
- They will be paid at your discretion
- They can take the time off as paid annual leave
- They can make up lost time
